Sustainable Furniture - Wasted Wood, Second Life

The disposal of yard waste in Hong Kong presents a pressing environmental challenge. On a daily basis, approximately 238 tonnes of yard waste find their way into landfills, with a mere 8,800 tonnes annually being diverted for recycling. Particularly pronounced during the typhoon seasons, as evidenced by the aftermath of Typhoon Saola in 2023 which led to the reported fall of 1,545 trees, the underutilization of these resources contributes significantly to the escalating waste management crisis in Hong Kong. This issue is further compounded by the global imperative towards sustainable practices, necessitating innovative solutions to address the burgeoning environmental concerns.

Epoxy & Wood seeks to tackle this environmental quandary by transforming wood waste into bespoke, premium-grade furniture pieces. By repurposing fallen trees into exquisite creations meticulously crafted from hardwood and epoxy resin, we not only breathe new life into these discarded resources but also champion sustainability within the furniture industry in Hong Kong. Through the utilization of locally sourced recycled timber, our mission extends beyond the mere production of furniture; we aim to cultivate a heightened consciousness regarding environmental conservation and to catalyze a paradigm shift towards the comprehensive recycling of yard waste across the city.

We specialize in ethically sourcing reclaimed wood from local channels, transforming it into premium furniture pieces that breathe new life into fallen trees. Beyond retail offerings, our collaborations extend to interior designers and corporations, providing sustainable furnishings to enhance green workspaces. Additionally, we offer tailored team-building experiences for corporate clients, aligning with their ESG objectives. Moreover, we engage with schools through educational workshops, shedding light on environmental challenges like yard waste and emphasizing the significance of sustainable practices for Hong Kong's future development.
